Tim Vahle has been an artist his entire life. One of his earliest memories as a child was when he was 5 years old, when his 1st grade teacher would parade him and his drawings around the different classrooms of his gradeschool. His artistic and creative process has evolved in many different directions throughout his life. He has been a professional actor, a singer, a writer, and within the last 8 years, finding his way back to the pencil and brush.
Tim's Current Artistic Practice/Philosophy
"I find moments of precious beauty in the natural world as the inspiration for my Lanscapes. I practice the Japanese tradition of Shinrin-Yoku in locations throughout the world to produce plein air studies, which I use along with reference images and imagination to produce larger studio works that evoke awe and inspiration. My landscapes are often regarded for my use of light and space.
When painting portraits, I capture the essence of the person I am painting beyond simply the physical representation. My portraits are often described as "encapsulating the entire person inside and out.""
